Building a garden on a slab of red clay!

BUILDING THE 21ST CENTURY KID'S GARDEN!
There are 100 after school kids from Woodland Heights Elementary School who are building the garden. All we have to work is a slab of red clay. Wonderful people in our community donated the materials and we thank those of you who have donated your time especially Steve Patton who I have worked with for a long time. He is such a good teacher and friend to children - a positive and gentle person.  He is aware of their safety and has contributed valuable time to the program. The kids love it!!! They have been so interested and worked so hard. We and the garden are off to a great start! Thank you to Steve Patton for helping us build the beds and the teepee too - and to all our partners who made it happen!
There are great opportunities and a broad curriculum that one can teach and experience outdoors and the exercise and health benefits are right there. I challenge you to get on the train to helping kids grow healthy and inspiring discovery. Freedom comes with self-control, caring, sharing, and kindness and these grow in the garden.
I am glad to be able to share with you - pictures, stories and memories as it happened! Walk that Green Shoes walk!
IT'S HOT!
